Social media saving the world?

If anyone know how to leverage the power of mass media it is Greenpeace; and now that our society has progressed to a networked society, Greenpeace continues to make image events, they are now online and create a social movement within the social media sphere. Below is an interview CNN conducted with Greenpeace's Executive Director Kumi Naidoo on their attack of Nestle last year.

I think that this video expands on ideas that we discussed last class on the power of our networked society to mobilize groups in mass around a central idea. I think that a networked society has the ability to go father than any traditional media campaign because of the direct connection from image event to interested parties.
